Erie submitted a filing in Wisconsin to withdraw its Fivestar Contractors program effective November 1, 2026, impacting 383 policies written on the insurer’s legacy platform.
According to the filing, Erie is moving away from the manual legacy system supporting the program in favor of its newer web based ErieSecure Business platform, which the company said offers a more efficient experience for agents and customers. Erie described the Wisconsin Fivestar Contractors program as “duplicative, inefficient, and labor intensive to maintain.”
The insurer said qualifying policyholders may be able to transition into an ErieSecure Business policy through Erie Insurance Company, although some risks may no longer qualify under current underwriting guidelines. Erie also stated that it plans to eventually withdraw the Fivestar Contractors line in all states where it operates.
The withdrawal process will begin on or before November 1, 2026, with advance communications sent to policyholders followed by nonrenewal notices at least 60 days before policy expiration.
