Erie Insurance Company, along with affiliates Erie Insurance Company of New York, Erie Insurance Exchange, Erie Insurance Property and Casualty Company, and Flagship City Insurance Company, has filed a rule update in Kentucky to implement a 3% credit card payment surcharge, effective February 1, 2026. The surcharge will not exceed the company’s cost of acceptance, ensuring compliance with state guidelines.
The filing, which carries no rate impact, standardizes Erie’s premium payment options across multiple business lines, including Business Auto, Garage Auto, ErieSecure Business, Ultraflex, and Ultrapack Plus. Automated payment options include ERIExpressPay, featuring 12 monthly ACH debits with no installment fees, and PaySense, which aligns premium debits with employer payroll cycles.
The filing also reaffirms Erie’s installment fee structure ($5 per deferred installment under plans C or D) and a $25 fee for returned payments. The filing was acknowledged and closed without objections.
