Erie Files New Personal Auto Program in Tennessee

Erie Insurance Property and Casualty Company has submitted a rate and rule filing in Tennessee to introduce a new version of its ErieSecure Auto personal auto program, with an effective date of June 1, 2026.

The submission reflects a neutral rate position, with no overall rate change, no written premium impact, and no policies currently affected, indicating the filing is designed to support future growth rather than modify the existing book.

The new program establishes updated rating structures and classifications, including revised base rates, territory factors, vehicle characteristics, driver attributes, usage patterns, insurance score tiers, prior coverage variables, and a wide range of discounts such as multi policy, advanced quote, accident prevention, and longevity with Erie.

In addition to private passenger auto, the program framework includes rating structures for motorcycles, trailers, off road vehicles, and optional endorsements such as Erie Auto Plus, roadside assistance, transportation expense, auto security, customized equipment, and extended theft coverage.

The filing, submitted on February 13, 2026, will apply to new business only and will have no impact on existing policyholders. The program is being introduced under Tennessee’s prior approval framework and is currently under regulatory review.
