Foremost Updates Texas Motor Home Program With Modest Rate Increase

Foremost submitted a filing in Texas to update its Motor Home program, introducing rate revisions and several technical changes to the rating structure. The filing was submitted on March 5, 2026.

The changes are scheduled to take effect August 1, 2026 for new business and September 1, 2026 for renewals. The program currently covers about 4,253 policyholders and represents approximately $7.66 million in written premium in the state.

Foremost is requesting an overall rate impact of +3.5%, driven by updates to base rates and adjustments to rating factors including age, marital status, and the age of the motor home unit.

The filing also introduces premium capping, a mechanism designed to limit the magnitude of rate changes applied to individual policies and reduce the impact on insureds.

In addition, the insurer updated its distribution classification, changing the Producer Type designation from “All Other” to “Other Channels.”

If approved, the revisions will update the rating framework while keeping overall premium changes relatively moderate across the Texas motor home book.
