Foremost Seeks Rate Increase for Michigan Classic Auto program

Foremost has filed revisions to its Antique and Classic Auto Program in Michigan that would produce an overall rate increase of 5.6%, compared with an indicated increase of 6.8%.

The filing affects 2,205 policyholders and $805,037 in written premium, with a projected premium increase of $44,849. Individual policy changes would range from a 6.8% decrease to a 22.5% increase.

Foremost plans to revise base rates for personal injury protection, standard collision and limited collision coverage. It is also introducing rating territories and corresponding territorial factors.

About 26% of policyholders would receive increases of at least 10%, all in the two highest-rated territories. No policyholders would receive decreases of 10% or more.

The filing requests effective dates of September 1, 2026, for new business and November 1, 2026, for renewals. The program is distributed through JC Taylor Antique Automobile Agency.
