Loya Files Rate Decrease for Georgia Auto Program

Loya Insurance Company has submitted a filing in Georgia to revise rates for its private passenger auto program, with changes scheduled to take effect May 5, 2026 for both new and renewal business.

The filing proposes an overall rate decrease of 2.8%, despite actuarial indications supporting an 11% increase. The adjustment affects approximately 3,345 policyholders and applies to a program generating about $14.4 million in written premium in the state.

The update includes revisions to base rates and rating factors across several coverages, including collision, comprehensive, medical payments, and uninsured motorist bodily injury.

The previous rate revision for the program was an 18.9% increase that took effect in March 2025, suggesting the insurer is now moderating pricing following that adjustment.

The program focuses on value priced auto insurance, with Loya targeting underserved and growing Hispanic communities through affiliated agencies that provide bilingual service.

The largest policy level impact shows no increases, while the largest decrease reaches about 14.7%, depending on the vehicle, driver profile, and coverage selections.
