Verisk launched an updated U.S. hurricane model alongside a new cloud-based platform called Synergy Studio.
The rebuilt model reflects current hurricane patterns and climate conditions instead of relying heavily on historical data from decades ago. It includes updates to wind, storm surge, and inland flooding models, along with revised building vulnerability assumptions based on newer construction standards and mitigation measures.
Verisk also rebuilt its simulated storm catalog to include a wider range of hurricane and tropical storm scenarios. The company said the model underwent external scientific review before release.
The updated model will be available through Verisk’s new Synergy Studio platform starting June 15. The cloud-native platform combines catastrophe modeling, exposure management, and risk analytics in one system and is designed to support faster model updates and larger portfolios.
