Aflac’s Tier One Cancer Coverage Appears on Ethos Platform

Tier One Insurance Company, part of the Aflac family of insurers, received approval in West Virginia for updated advertising materials tied to its supplemental cancer insurance offering distributed through the Ethos platform.

The filing covers advertising pages for Tier One’s cancer insurance series and reflects updated marketing language previously approved in late 2025. According to the filing, the product is designed to be offered alongside Ethos term life insurance during the digital checkout process.

The online flow promotes supplemental cancer coverage with messaging such as “You’ve been automatically approved” and positions the policy as protection against the financial impact of a cancer diagnosis. Example benefits highlighted in the filing include a $1,000 initial diagnosis benefit, up to $3,500 for stem cell and bone marrow transplantation, hospice care benefits, chemotherapy and radiation treatment benefits, and surgical coverage.

The filing also shows how the cancer policy is embedded into the Ethos purchasing experience alongside Banner Life term life insurance products. Consumers are presented with optional cancer coverage during checkout, with example pricing in the filing showing $31.18 per month for the cancer policy.

The materials emphasize that the coverage is supplemental and “not major medical insurance.” The filing additionally notes that rates do not increase with age and that no additional cancer screening is required to enroll.

The advertising filing was approved by West Virginia regulators on May 6, 2026.
