CSAA Seeks Kansas Auto Rate Increase for Signature Series Program

CSAA has filed a rate and rule update in Kansas for its Private Passenger Auto Signature Series program, proposing an overall rate increase of 2.3% for new and renewal business effective June 15, 2026. The filing applies to private passenger auto, motorhome, and trailer business written in the state.

According to the filing, the proposed change would impact approximately 2,932 policyholders and generate an estimated $148,709 in additional written premium, bringing total written premium for the program to about $6.47 million. While the overall impact is modest, individual policy outcomes vary, with maximum increases of up to 13.9% and decreases of as much as 11.6%, reflecting the redistribution effects of updated rating factors.

The filing replaces and updates the Kansas rating rules manual and follows a prior rate revision that took effect on June 15, 2025. CSAA is filing on a prior approval basis, with the Kansas Insurance Department currently reviewing the submission.
