CSAA is seeking approval to introduce a new homeowners program in Virginia under the AAA Insurance brand.
A notable feature is optional Mortgage Payment Protection, which will cover up to $1,500 per month in mortgage payments when a covered loss makes the home uninhabitable. Benefits begin 45 days after the loss and can continue for up to 12 months, subject to an $18,000 maximum. Repairs or reconstruction must begin within 90 days.
The program also includes homeowners, renters and condominium policies, with optional coverages for equipment breakdown, buried utility lines, identity fraud, matching undamaged roofing and siding, and rebuilding with energy-efficient materials.
All new business will be written through the program, which currently has no policies in force. CSAA submitted the filing on September 3 and is requesting a January 11, 2027, launch.
