CSAA Launches New Auto Program In Connecticut

CSAA Fire & Casualty Insurance Company filed a new private passenger auto program in Connecticut, with a requested effective date of May 17, 2027, for new business.

The filing introduces a replacement rating structure under which all new private passenger policies in the state will be written. As an introductory program, there are currently no policies in force, and the change carries a 0.0% overall rate impact, with base rates calibrated to align total premium levels with the company’s existing program.

The new rating framework incorporates a broad set of pricing variables, including driver characteristics, household composition, vehicle attributes, geographic factors, telematics participation, and usage based insurance scores. The program also includes multiple policy level discounts such as multi policy, multi vehicle, paperless, paid in full, and advance shopping, along with optional features like accident forgiveness, vanishing deductibles, and rideshare coverage.

The filing reflects a structural redesign rather than a pricing increase, positioning CSAA to migrate future Connecticut auto business onto a more granular, data driven platform.
