Nationwide has filed to revise its Homeowners program in Tennessee across four entities—Nationwide Insurance Company of America, Nationwide General Insurance Company, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, and Nationwide Property and Casualty Insurance Company.
The filing introduces additional Windstorm/Hail deductible options tied to a policy’s Amount of Insurance (AOI), with changes becoming effective August 11, 2025 for new business and November 7, 2025 for renewals.
The update lowers the minimum allowable deductibles based on AOI tiers. For example, a $1,000 All Peril deductible is no longer available for AOIs of $250,000 or more as of February or March 2025, depending on the company. Similarly, minimum Wind/Hail deductibles are now tiered: $1,500 for AOIs under $250,000, $2,500 for AOIs between $250,000 and $499,999, and $5,000 for AOIs of $500,000 and up. Percentage deductibles (e.g., 1%, 2%, 5%) remain available, and all selections must meet or exceed the base All Peril deductible.
The filing does not impact rates and was submitted under SERFF Tracking Number NWPP-134527045.
A similar filing was submitted in Maryland.
