Nationwide Adds Barn Owl Offering for Ag Customers

Nationwide submitted a New Mexico informational filing tied to value-added products and services for its Commercial Ag Operations business.

The filing applies to Nationwide Agribusiness Insurance Company and Crestbrook Insurance Company’s multiline commercial agricultural operations product and was submitted with no rate impact and no affected policyholders. Requested effective dates for new and renewal business were April 28, 2026.

According to the filing memorandum, Nationwide is introducing a product “that could be offered at a discount to our members” and said the offerings are intended to “reduce and prevent claims.”

A separate Vermont filing provides additional details, describing Barn Owl as a provider of remote camera systems designed for farms, ranches, and rural agribusiness operations. The cameras use cellular connectivity, solar power, and rugged hardware to monitor animals, equipment, buildings, gates, and other remote assets.

According to the Vermont filing, the product is offered to policyholders through a 20% discount on Barn Owl products available via Nationwide policies. The filing states the offering is intended to support the protection and monitoring of agricultural property and operations.
