Nationwide Expands Businessowners Program in Georgia

Nationwide Affinity Insurance Company of America, Nationwide Assurance Company, Nationwide General Insurance Company, and Nationwide Insurance Company of Florida — all part of the Nationwide Insurance Group — filed in Georgia to update their Businessowners (BOP) program with neutral rate impact.

The filing introduceas new class codes to expand into additional markets such as snack bars and closet organizer stores, and adds optional tiered coverage options (Essential, Enhanced, Advanced). It also revises endorsements across Food Service, Retail, Service, Office, Habitational, and Wholesale programs, adding specialized coverage for architects, veterinarians, and accountants.

New optional coverages include Laptop Computers – Worldwide, Business Income – Web Based Interruption, and expanded Employment Practices Liability protections covering wage and hour, independent contractors, and third-party practices. The filing also adds a new rule, Exclusion – Inhalation Devices, to align with updated underwriting practices.
