Homesite Raises Texas Homeowners Coverage Limit to $1.5 Million

Homesite is expanding eligibility for its Texas homeowners and secondary home programs by increasing the maximum Coverage A limit from $1.25 million to $1.5 million.

The insurer is also refreshing its multivariate underwriting model and revising roof loss-settlement rules. The changes will allow certain roofs between 10 and 20 years old to qualify for replacement cost coverage, depending on the roofing material and condition.

Homesite said the updates reflect its use of segmented pricing to address profitability concerns while opening additional segments expected to support profitable growth.

The changes apply to 266,486 primary homeowners policies and 932 secondary home policies. Homesite does not expect existing policyholders to be affected unless they elect to add replacement cost coverage for roof surfacing. Eligible renewal customers will receive a message on their declarations page explaining the option.

The filing requests effective dates of August 28, 2026, for new business and September 17, 2026, for renewals.
