Homesite, part of American Family, is introducing updates to its Idaho homeowners program, with a proposed overall rate increase of 5.1%.
The filing, submitted February 18, 2026, targets HO-3 owner-occupied homeowners policies, with new business changes expected to take effect October 23, 2026, and renewals on December 10, 2026.
The increase reflects a wider gap between indicated and selected rates. Homesite indicated a need for a 20.5% increase but selected a more moderate 5.1% adjustment. The program covers 18,409 policyholders and approximately $25.2 million in written premium.
Idaho written premium grew substantially over the five-year period, rising from roughly $4.8 million in 2020 to $15.3 million in 2024, with particularly strong acceleration between 2023 and 2024 driven by organic expansion and the conversion of Costco-tied business onto its platform.
The filing follows a prior 9% rate increase approved in October 2025, suggesting a continued push toward rate adequacy, albeit through incremental steps rather than full alignment with indicated needs.
