GEICO Cuts Florida Auto Rates Again

GEICO is lowering auto insurance rates in Florida effective April 2026, marking another reduction following legal system reforms enacted in 2023.

The company said it has reduced annual premiums by more than $350 million over the past two years, with the latest decrease impacting more than 700,000 Florida policyholders. GEICO cited improved market stability tied to reforms aimed at curbing legal system abuse, while noting ongoing pressures from severe weather, accident severity, and inflation.

GEICO is the second-largest auto insurer in Florida and the third-largest in the U.S.

“As Florida’s second-largest auto insurer, we’re encouraged by the positive changes in the insurance market following recent legal system reforms. Those steps have helped create a more stable market, allowing us to better serve our growing customer base with competitively priced insurance products.” – GEICO’s head of insurance product management, Amanda White.
