GEICO has filed a paid deductible savings option for its Idaho personal auto policies. Under the proposed plan, policyholders would earn a $50 credit toward their comprehensive and collision deductibles at each qualifying renewal.
Credits would begin accruing at the first renewal after enrollment and could reduce the deductible on a covered claim by up to its full amount. A driving violation or comprehensive or collision claim would prevent a new credit from accruing at the next renewal, but previously earned credits would remain available while the vehicle and policyholder remain eligible. The credits have no cash value and cannot reduce premiums.
The plan requires both comprehensive and collision coverage with initial deductibles of at least $500. GEICO did not disclose the price of the option in the forms filing.
The September 22 submission also includes a revised Idaho auto policy and endorsements for delivery and rideshare use, enhanced mechanical breakdown insurance and OEM parts. The filing remains under state review.
