GEICO has filed to lower Oregon auto insurance rates across six underwriting companies, with average decreases ranging from 0.3% to 8.6%.
The filing covers 121,802 policyholders and approximately $295.5 million in written premium. The proposed changes would reduce premium by approximately $13.1 million, based on the reported book.
GEICO Casualty accounts for most of the reduction, with a roughly $9.9 million decrease affecting 45,436 policyholders. Individual changes across the six companies range from a 45% decrease to a 15.4% increase.
GEICO is also revising bodily injury monthly trend factors and removing time-based increases for uninsured motorist and personal injury protection coverage by setting their monthly trend factors to 1.00.
The minimum rental reimbursement limit would rise from $35 per day and $1,050 total to $45 per day and $1,350 total, reflecting higher rental costs nationwide. GEICO says the associated rating changes would still produce an overall rate decrease for that coverage.
Submitted October 26 under Oregon’s file-and-use framework, the filing lists proposed effective dates of December 3, 2026, for new business and January 17, 2027, for renewals.
