GEICO Tightens Connecticut Auto Eligibility Rules

GEICO is revising its private passenger auto underwriting guidelines in Connecticut to require named insureds or applicants to own or co-own every vehicle listed for coverage.

Applicants who do not meet the ownership requirement would be considered unacceptable under the revised guidelines.

The change applies to GEICO Advantage, which serves the company’s direct channel, and GEICO Marine, which is available through independent agents.

GEICO plans to implement the revision for new and renewal business beginning August 13, 2026. The filing is pending.
