GEICO is introducing rate reductions to its private passenger auto programs in Wisconsin, reflecting improving loss trends in newer business.
The filing shows an overall rate decrease of 3.7%, impacting nearly 40,000 policyholders and reducing written premium by about $1.9 million.
At the company level:
- GEICO Advantage is implementing a 4.1% decrease, affecting over 31,000 policyholders and reducing premium by roughly $1.48 million
- GEICO Marine is introducing a 2.7% decrease, impacting about 8,800 policyholders with a $396,000 premium reduction
The changes apply to new business effective April 3, 2026, and renewals effective May 29, 2026.
The rate action is driven by declining new business frequency, particularly in property damage and collision coverages, allowing the companies to lower rates while maintaining profitability.
Beyond pricing, the update includes rule revisions and refinements to insurance history scoring, although those changes are not expected to impact existing customers.
