Travelers Casualty Insurance Company of America has submitted a rate filing for its BOP program in Texas, requesting an overall rate increase of 10.57% for both new and renewal business effective August 1, 2026.
The changes would affect approximately 5,582 policyholders and $34.5 million in written premium, generating an estimated $3.6 million in additional premium. Individual policy impacts will vary, with increases capped at 18.8%.
The filing includes revisions to base rates and territory definitions and is supported by a five year review of premium and loss experience from 2020 through 2024. Travelers adjusted historical data for inflation in insured values, loss development, large loss normalization, catastrophe exposure, and expense provisions to ensure rates remain adequate to cover expected losses, operating costs, and underwriting profit.
The request follows a much larger 29.6% increase that took effect on August 1, 2025 and was submitted under a file and use approach.
