Travelers Seeks 17% Rate Increase for Connecticut Homeowners Program

Travelers submitted a filing in Connecticut on March 3, 2026 requesting a significant rate increase for its Quantum homeowners products.

The filing proposes an overall rate increase of 17%, slightly below the indicated 17.8%, and would affect 25,990 policyholders. The program currently represents $55.9 million in written premium, with the filing projecting an increase of $9.5 million in premium if approved. The changes are scheduled to take effect July 14, 2026 for renewal business.

According to the filing, individual policyholder impacts could reach as high as 29.1%, making this one of the more substantial homeowners adjustments in the state this year.

Travelers uses Verisk’s Touchstone Version 10.0 catastrophe model to support its pricing assumptions.

The rate changes apply to the insurer’s Quantum Homeowners and Quantum High Value Home programs, which serve standard and higher value homeowners risks in the state.
