Assurant is updating the device protection program offered to Total Wireless customers by adding a choice of digital-security benefits.

The $8-per-month Total Wireless Protect+ plan combines device coverage with one of three products from Gen Digital: Norton 360 Standard, LifeLock Core or Norton Family. Customers can change their selected benefit every 30 days.

The plan covers loss, theft, accidental damage, and mechanical or electrical failure. A separate Total Wireless Protect plan costs $5 per month and excludes loss and theft as well as the digital-security benefit. Both plans include $0 repairs for eligible front screens and back glass, while fees for other claims range from $29 to $349, depending on the device.

Loss-and-theft coverage is underwritten by Assurant subsidiary American Bankers Insurance Company of Florida under a master policy issued to Verizon Value. The remaining benefits are provided through Assurant service-contract companies.

The updated materials were filed in Maryland on August 7 with a requested effective date of September 7, 2026, replacing materials approved in May.
