The Hartford Consolidates Oregon Homeowners Book

The Hartford plans to move 2,143 Oregon homeowners policies written by Property and Casualty Insurance Company of Hartford to another Hartford writing company as part of a broader consolidation.

The affected book represents approximately $4.15 million in premium. Transfers will begin with renewals effective December 31, 2026, and continue for one year. The insurer stressed that customers are not being canceled and will experience no interruption in coverage.

Policyholders will receive new policy numbers and move to The Hartford’s Home Advantage program. Existing payment plans and automatic bank withdrawals will continue, although customers using recurring credit card payments will need to reenroll.

Coverage will be matched as closely as possible, but some limits and options may change. Boat coverage will no longer be offered, while customers may gain access to equipment breakdown, green rebuilding, valuable-items coverage and packages that include identity fraud protection and a disappearing property deductible.

The Hartford filed to withdraw the existing forms used by Property and Casualty Insurance Company of Hartford. Those forms may remain in use for in-force policies during the runoff period.
