Spinnaker Files Renters Program In Idaho

Spinnaker Insurance Company has submitted a filing to introduce a new Residents Liability Program in Idaho, with a requested effective date of April 1, 2026 for new business.

The program provides liability protection for tenants renting residential properties owned or managed by a group policyholder. Coverage is issued under a group policy structure, with all certificates carrying the same liability limits and eligibility restricted to individuals renting for residential use.

Annual liability limits range from $25,000 to $300,000, with premiums starting at $72 and reaching $114 at the highest limit. An optional personal property coverage component is available with limits up to $50,000, along with additional living expense coverage equal to 20% of the selected property limit.

Optional endorsements include pet damage coverage, limited bed bug remediation, water backup and sump overflow, refrigerated property coverage, forcible entry theft, and an animal liability sublimit. A mandatory endorsement addresses limited coverage for fungi, wet or dry rot, or bacteria, and a biohazard clean-up endorsement provides up to $2,000 following a death at the insured location.

The filing is administered by Millennial Specialty Insurance and is largely based on a similar program previously approved for Technology Insurance Company, with Spinnaker adopting comparable rates and structure. The company indicated it will monitor experience and adjust pricing as its own data develops.
