In The Car is launching a personal auto insurance program in Illinois through a partnership with Spinnaker Insurance Company.

The program, effective September 28, will be distributed through In The Car’s technology platform, which targets automakers, auto dealers and car-as-a-service providers. The product uses connected vehicle data to assess risk and adjust insurance rates.

Drivers receive a 5% discount for enrolling in the connected car program and can qualify for additional 3% discounts based on acceleration, braking and speeding behavior beginning at the first renewal. The program also offers discounts for electric vehicles, new vehicles, prior insurance and customers with a home, condo or renters policy distributed through In The Car.
