Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Company has filed a Noninsurance Services Rider in Texas for use with its group term life insurance policies issued to association-based groups. The filing was submitted on January 15, 2026 and is pending review by the Texas Department of Insurance, with an effective date requested upon approval.
The rider formalizes a package of value-added, noninsurance services offered at no additional cost to insureds and beneficiaries. Hartford positions these services as complementary to life insurance coverage rather than inducements, noting that participation is voluntary and services may be provided directly by Hartford or through third-party vendors.
The services include will preparation and estate planning support, financial planning referrals, identity theft assistance, probate and estate settlement guidance, and funeral planning and bereavement services such as price comparisons and grief support.
According to the filing, the rider will be used alongside previously approved association group life policy and certificate forms and does not replace any existing rider. While third-party vendors deliver the services, Hartford states it maintains contractual performance standards and remains the point of contact for insureds.
