Great American Adds GenAI Exclusion

Great American Insurance Company has filed updated forms in Pennsylvania to clarify aggregate limits and formally exclude liabilities tied to generative artificial intelligence. The filing was submitted on January 14, 2026, with changes effective for new and renewal business on March 1, 2026.

The refiling introduces a Generative AI Exclusion defining and excluding liabilities arising from machine based learning systems that generate content. It also adds an Aggregate Limit of Insurance Amendment, capping recovery at $100 million per occurrence across multiple forms. The updates apply to Great American’s Astra Program, which targets public entities such as schools, municipalities, and special districts.
