Great American Insurance Company has introduced a new standalone Unmanned Aircraft Policy in Wisconsin, creating a dedicated product for drone risks that were previously written under its broader aircraft program.
The new policy includes a base coverage form along with a wide range of new and revised endorsements tailored to unmanned aircraft operations. The company said the changes are intended to provide clearer and enhanced coverage and do not involve any changes to rating.
Coverage options include liability and physical damage, along with endorsements for non owned aircraft, payload, spare parts, cargo liability, ground equipment, business interruption, and aerial application exposures. Several existing endorsements were also updated, including changes allowing aircraft identification by serial number and expanded definitions related to aerial application chemicals.
The standalone structure reflects growing specialization in the commercial drone market, separating unmanned aircraft risks from traditional aviation coverage while maintaining the existing pricing framework.
The rate and rule filing was submitted on February 12, 2026, and became effective the same day.
