Chubb is easing water shutoff device requirements for new Masterpiece homeowners business in Arizona.
Under the revised guidelines, homes without a pressurized water loss will require a shutoff device only when insured for $10 million or more, regardless of occupancy type. The device will remain mandatory for properties that experienced a pressurized water loss within the previous three years.
The change applies to Chubb National Insurance Company and Executive Risk Indemnity. Arizona acknowledged the use-and-file submission on July 15, with Chubb targeting an August 24, 2026, effective date for new business.
A similar filing was submitted in Connecticut.
