Century National to Withdraw Auto Program in California

Century National Insurance Company, part of National General, is exiting its Carnegie Centurian private passenger auto program in California, with the withdrawal scheduled to take effect on March 1, 2026.

The program, which is managed by Carnegie Agency Inc., currently has no active policies, making the move an administrative exit rather than a policyholder facing disruption.

The filing seeks to remove the automobile line from Century National’s certificate of authority in California and includes the withdrawal of all related rules and forms tied to the program.

As part of the process, the company confirmed it will not file a replacement program for at least three years following the effective withdrawal date, consistent with California regulatory requirements.
