Allstate Introduces “Just Enough” Auto Coverage

Allstate is seeking approval to introduce an optional personal auto endorsement in Nevada called “Just Enough.”

In exchange for a premium reduction, the endorsement excludes coverage for undisclosed household drivers and significantly limits coverage when a permissive driver operates the vehicle.

Undisclosed operators—licensed household residents who are neither listed nor excluded on the policy—would receive no liability, collision, comprehensive, or other vehicle coverage, except where coverage is required by law.

Permissive drivers would receive only Nevada’s statutory minimum liability limits, regardless of the limits purchased by the policyholder. Allstate would provide no collision, comprehensive, transportation expense, trip interruption, or replacement protection when a permissive driver is behind the wheel. If that driver has a separate auto policy, it would apply above the statutory minimum.

The endorsement also excludes physical damage occurring while a vehicle is operating autonomously without active human control or monitoring, as well as losses arising from the transportation of hazardous materials.

“Just Enough” is a vehicle-level feature rather than a policy-level selection. Allstate is requesting a February 16, 2027, effective date for new business.

Bottom Line: The expansion continues.
