Allstate plans to introduce a new California homeowners product through Allstate Property Insurance Company, with a proposed July 1, 2027, launch for new business.
The product uses a modular policy structure, with each coverage section contained in a separate form instead of one large policy jacket. Allstate said the approach will make it easier to update policies for new laws and reuse coverage modules across products. Customers will still receive the documents as a traditional policy package.
Optional coverages include service lines, water backup, functional replacement cost, enhanced personal property protection and extended dwelling limits.
Existing Allstate Insurance Company customers will initially remain in the company’s Deluxe and Deluxe Plus homeowners products. Allstate plans to transfer those policyholders to Allstate Property Insurance Company later and subsequently file to withdraw Allstate Insurance Company from the program.
The form filing was submitted on September 2 but rejected at intake the following day because California regulators said there was not yet an approved program to which the forms could attach.
