Vermont Rejects Allstate’s Just Enough Endorsement

Vermont regulators rejected Allstate’s proposed “Just Enough” auto insurance endorsement, which offers lower premiums in exchange for reduced coverage.

The optional endorsement would exclude collision, comprehensive, and other vehicle protection coverages when an undisclosed household driver or a permissive driver not listed on the policy operates the vehicle. It also includes restrictions involving hazardous materials and autonomous driving without active human control.

The department cited a state law addressing misleading policy provisions and conditions that deceptively affect coverage. The filing was closed as Disapproved-Final on November 3, 2026.

Allstate markets Just Enough in Tennessee as a way to save up to 6% by skipping coverage customers may not need, using drivers who do not let others drive their cars as an example.
