Allstate Lowers New Jersey Auto Rates

Esurance Insurance Company, part of Allstate, is introducing a -14.7% rate reduction for its New Jersey private passenger auto program. The filing was submitted on March 26, 2026 and is currently under review, with new business targeted for April 27, 2026 and renewals for June 4, 2026.

The change impacts approximately 2,376 policyholders and $4.8 million in written premium, translating to an estimated $704,000 reduction in premium for the program.

The rate decrease is implemented through lower rate adjustment factors across all major coverages, including bodily injury, property damage, personal injury protection, collision, and comprehensive. Rather than altering the underlying rating structure, the company is broadly reducing pricing levels through these multipliers.

From a regulatory standpoint, the filing is not yet approved.
