Allstate Withdraws Auto Discounts in Virginia Filing

Allstate Indemnity Company has filed to withdraw two long-standing auto insurance discounts—the Defensive Driver Discount and the Preferred Policy Discount—from its Virginia Private Passenger Auto (PPA) program.

According to the submission, Allstate will no longer implement the qualifications for these discounts as previously outlined in Form X3124-10, which has been officially withdrawn. The company also provided an updated forms list to reflect the removal. The filing was prepared by Deborah Larsen, State Filing Analyst, and reviewed by Jessica Baggarley.

The withdrawn form, titled “Important Information About Your Allstate Auto Insurance Premium,” detailed how policyholders’ premiums were calculated and included definitions for classification codes, usage, and rating factors. While other discount programs—such as Passive Restraint, Antilock Brake, Resident Student, and Homeowner Discounts—remain unaffected, the filing marks a step toward simplifying Allstate’s discount structure in Virginia’s personal auto market.
