Redpoint Refines Texas Auto Program Distribution Factors

Redpoint County Mutual Insurance Company submitted a Texas filing updating rules and rating elements for its private passenger auto program written through Grove General Agency on behalf of Elephant Auto.

The filing, submitted March 2, 2026, carries no overall rate impact. Changes take effect March 3, 2026 for new business and May 3, 2026 for renewals.

As part of the update, the agency distribution channel is being split into two categories: Aggregators and Direct Appointments. Grove General Agency, the program’s managing general agent, is authorized to submit filings on behalf of the insurer.

The revision also incorporates Redpoint’s machine learning Vehicle Score Model into rating.

Data inputs referenced in the filing include sources from S&P Global (IHS), Verisk, and ISO.

Additional updates include expanding MSRP tables to include model years 2027 through 2030.
