Redpoint County Mutual Insurance Company has officially withdrawn the policy forms associated with its Private Passenger Auto (PPA) program administered by Apparent Insurance in Texas. The move marks the final step in winding down the program, which is now in run-off and no longer providing coverage. All policies under this arrangement have expired, and no new business is being written.

Apparent Insurance was launched in 2019 by Platinum General Agency as an Austin-based brand offering personal lines products, including auto, home, renters, and life insurance. Auto coverage was underwritten by Redpoint County Mutual, homeowners insurance by Homesite, and additional products through Elephant Insurance Services.
With messaging designed to resonate with families—from “nesting to empty nesting”—Apparent positioned itself as a parent-focused insurer. However, the brand did not scale beyond its small founding team.
Its closure follows a broader trend of niche digital insurance brands consolidating under larger entities, including Noblr by USAA, CHERRISK by UNIQA, and Toggle by Farmers.
