Drive Away Revises Texas Auto Guidelines Under SB1238

Redpoint County Mutual, through Drive Away General Agency, has updated its Texas personal auto underwriting guidelines to comply with Senate Bill 1238. The revision, filed under S730272, applies to new and renewal business effective September 1, 2025.

Agents must bind policies online at DriveAwaymga.com, with instant issuance of declarations, ID cards, and endorsements. Billing is direct only, with payment reminders and digital docs sent by SMS if the electronic delivery discount is selected. Six-month terms are offered with down payment tiers tied to TransUnion credit scoring, and policyholders may request an annual review of their credit for potential premium decreases.

Eligibility limits exclude older or high-risk vehicles, delivery drivers, and most applicants over 75 without approval. Drivers with multiple DUI/DWI offenses are ineligible. Discounts include multicar, prior insurance, EFT, homeowners, and seven-day advance quote.
