Great American Insurance Company (GAIC), NAIC 16691, has filed a new Ticket Protection Program in Florida under the Inland Marine line of business, effective December 1, 2025. The filing represents a resubmission of a previously disapproved version (FL DOI #25-034245) and introduces new rates and rules for a product that reimburses ticket costs when customers are unable to attend an event for covered reasons.
Rates are derived from Technology Insurance Company’s approved Event Protection Insurance Program (#22-022334) and adjusted using GAIC’s Loss Cost Multiplier of 1.735. The filing includes a three-year weighted average for expense provisions—commissions (19.7%), other acquisition costs (7.5%), and general expenses (9.6%)—yielding an expected loss ratio of 57.65%. The policy allows full premium refunds if canceled within 72 hours, provided the ticket is unused and no claims are filed.
The previous filing was disapproved for insufficient actuarial support, but GAIC has now addressed these concerns with full documentation and validation of its rate basis. Perr&Knight served as the consulting firm submitting the filing on GAIC’s behalf.
