Foremost Seeks Home Rate Increase in Texas

Foremost Insurance Company, part of Farmers Insurance Group, has filed for a 17.2% overall rate increase for its Homeowners Program in Texas. The filing, submitted on November 3, 2025, applies to new business effective January 15, 2026, and renewals effective February 15, 2026.

The rate adjustment affects approximately 56,387 policyholders and $142.3 million in written premium, projecting an additional $24.5 million in premium following implementation. The change is supported by an indicated need of 17.8%, aimed at addressing rate inadequacy amid evolving loss trends.

The filing references updates to rate pages BASE-1, MOD-8, and ENDS-2, and follows a prior 5.1% increase implemented in May 2024. Notably, the maximum individual policy impact reaches 73.3%, signaling potential premium dislocation for certain risks.

Foremost also cites alignment with its new credit model filings (S718585/S718584), introduced in September 2024, as part of broader rating modernization efforts within Farmers Insurance Group.
