Berkley National Insurance Company has filed to introduce a new Community Associations management liability program in North Carolina under its Trellis brand, marking an expansion of its management liability offerings for condominium, homeowner, cooperative, and similar associations.
If approved, the program will be effective on approval for both new and renewal business. The filing is made on behalf of Berkley National Insurance Company, Berkley Regional Insurance Company, and Carolina Casualty Insurance Company, all members of W. R. Berkley Corporation.
The Trellis program is designed to provide claims-made management liability and optional crime coverage tailored specifically to community associations. Coverage includes individual and entity liability, optional employment practices liability, and a broad suite of crime coverages such as employee theft, computer fraud, social engineering fraud, and funds transfer fraud. Defense costs generally apply within policy limits, a structure commonly used in management liability programs.
According to the filing memorandum, the new program is mutually exclusive from Berkley’s previously filed community association programs in the state, with all other approved Berkley programs remaining unchanged. No policyholder counts or premium estimates were disclosed, as the submission is limited to forms and program structure rather than pricing.
