Berkley Insurance Company received approval from Florida regulators to continue using an annual rate filing exemption for its One Suite Collectibles program, a personal inland marine product covering collectible property.
The exemption, effective September 1, 2022, was granted because the program remained below Florida’s threshold for mandatory annual rate filings. At the time of the filing, the book consisted of 583 policies in force and approximately $1.43 million in annual premium volume.
The filing offers a glimpse into the growth of Berkley One’s collectibles business in Florida. According to correspondence included in the filing, the program had 229 policies and roughly $529,000 in premium volume as of ~2021. By 2022, policies in force had increased to 583 and premium volume had nearly tripled to $1.43 million.
The program is written through Berkley Insurance Company, part of WR Berkley Corporation, and is marketed under the Berkley One brand.
The exemption applies to the company’s personal inland marine collectibles coverage and remains valid for one year, after which the insurer must submit a new filing, certification, or exemption request.
