American Family has filed a rate and rule update for its homeowners program in Idaho, proposing an overall 4.8% rate impact across the book.
The change would affect approximately 12,256 policyholders and is expected to increase written premium by about $1.03 million on a base of $21.2 million. New and renewal business is proposed to take effect August 1, 2026.
The filing includes updates to the Homeowners Lines Manual and rating algorithms across homeowners, condo, manufactured home, and renters policies. American Family also applies its Early Bird Discount across policy types, offering a premium reduction for new customers who quote at least seven days before the policy effective date and who are not switching from another American Family–branded carrier. The discount may decrease at renewal.
The filing reflects updated loss costs and rating factors, including changes to roof age and roofing material factors, peril base rates, and the sequencing of discounts within the rating algorithms.
