American Family Insurance Company has filed to reduce private passenger auto rates in Idaho by an average of 6%.

The decrease would affect 12,898 policyholders and reduce annual written premium by approximately $1.87 million across a $31.1 million book. Individual changes will range from a 12.7% decrease to a 1.3% increase.

American Family’s actuarial indication called for a larger 12.2% reduction. The insurer previously implemented a 5% rate decrease in February 2026.

The new rates are scheduled to take effect August 11, 2026, for new business and September 5, 2026, for renewals.
