Utah Rejects Farmers Renters Filing Over Timing

Utah has rejected a renters rate filing from Economy Fire & Casualty Company and Farmers Casualty Insurance Company, citing a late submission.

The Farmers companies submitted the filing on October 20 with a requested new-business effective date of August 22, 2026. In its October 22 rejection, the department said filings must be submitted within 30 days after rates or related changes take effect.

The submission sought to replace rate manuals for the Foremost Renters 5.0 and Farmers Group Renters 5.0 programs. It reported no overall rate impact or affected policyholders.

The department said a new filing with a compliant effective date or timely submission would be required.
