Selective  is removing the optional watercraft endorsement from its Illinois homeowners program, effective January 1, 2027, for new and renewal business.

The change affects 36 policies carrying the endorsement. Existing customers will receive conditional renewal letters advising them that the coverage will be removed.

The withdrawal narrows Selective’s homeowners offering by eliminating a lightly used coverage option. For agents, it creates a need to review affected customers’ watercraft protection and determine whether separate coverage is necessary.

Submitted October 16 and marked filed October 22, the submission updates the program’s rules to reflect the removal.
