MIC General Insurance Corporation, a National General company, filed new commercial auto forms in Florida for a Rental Vehicle Program, proposed to take effect October 1, 2026.
The MGA-underwritten program is designed for rental vehicle companies, covering their liability and physical-damage exposures both while vehicles are idle and while they are rented. It is not renter personal auto insurance.
Rental companies may elect primary coverage, which includes rental customers as insureds during the rental period, or contingent coverage, under which renters must show other liability coverage and the policy protects the rental company only to meet state auto-liability requirements. The program also offers excess liability limits of up to $3 million.
The filing includes a collision-deductible endorsement for rental companies that sell collision damage waivers. It permits the company to waive subrogation against a customer within its retained layer, with a higher collision deductible applying to those vehicles.
