MGT Increases Idaho BOP Rates For Nonprofit Segment

MGT Insurance is raising rates for its businessowners program in Idaho, with a 6.2% overall increase tied to updated pricing assumptions and recent experience.

The change applies to policies covering nonprofits, including religious and human services organizations, and is scheduled to take effect October 1, 2026, for both new and renewal business.

The company’s actuarial analysis pointed to a higher need, indicating a 10.4% increase, but MGT opted for a more moderate adjustment. The filing impacts 73 policyholders and adds about $11,953 to a $186,047 book of business.

The update also includes revised property and liability factors across a wide range of classes, from religious services and schools to theaters, food programs, and nonprofits.

MGT said its pricing approach relies on experience from its affiliate Church Mutual Insurance Company, reflecting the program’s limited standalone data as it continues to build scale.

The update follows a +20% rate increase in 2025 and reflects ongoing pricing adjustments in the segment.
